Title: pre- reverse osmosis

 Im Curently experimenting with a few Pure water systems and would like any advice on pre filtering before Reverse osmosis.
I am using a polishing D.I tank.
What filtering is generally used before  the water hits the reverse osmosis unit. Salt ? Spent di resin ?
Id be gratefull for any help

1st filter particle 2nd carbon thats it but mine goes through water softener first
