I give away Solutions/One Step bottles to customers who spend a lot on carpet cleaning.

I tell them they are about £10 but they can have it for free.

A bottle of spotter is very little to give away if it helps you to gain a good regular customer.

I sell customers a trigger spray of Solutions for £10 but do give away to good regulars, once they have seen what it is capable of.
Profit from sold bottles more than pays for the freebies ;D

where do you get the price of £10 for a spotter?

and when does 'making a nice little profit' become 'taking advantage off the customer'

I give customer a free spotter if they give me chocolate biscuits with my cup of tea,  if the get out the homemade cake they get 2 ;)
