Niel,
For fresh pollen, after removing any loose powder with vacuum hose held above deposit, Eco spotter Citrus Gel and D'limonene work well on pollen that has not been rubbed in.
After the assault this lady has launched, probably with copious rubbing, it may be permanent. RedRx may improve the stain (after a good fresh-water rinse)

Hi what is eco spotter
-
Dan_1,
It is a spotting agent that combined micro-splitters with alcohol.
Available from Solutions-UK (01726 852880)

Dropped a clanger,I sprayed the area with eco spotter agitated lightly and blotted & hey presto the stain came out and so did the dirt ,only problem is she now has a big clean patch in the middle of the traffic lane .
Never mind you learn somthing new every day .

Niel,
For next time:
When asked to tackle a stain on a dirty carpet - especially in a traffic lane - explain that you cannot selectively remove soil whilst leaving other soil untouched. Show what you mean by spraying a little of a suitable spotter near the stain in question and remove the surface soil with a towel.
Give a price for attempting the removal of the stain and another for a complete clean including stain treatment.
In most instances the customer will go for the complete clean (If properly presented.)

Hi Guys,
I use white spirit to remove pollen.
I suspect alcohol, acetone etc will also work.
Cheers,
