Some silly woman in my house has left some awful stains on my "wooden laminated style" lino floor. This was left overnight & now looks awful. Is there anything that is not too abrasive & readily available to get this off. Hot water & washing up liquid have not helped. Mopped loads as well etc. Please help. Many thanks!

I got shoe polish off of a wooden chair leg with toothpaste.
See if it works

Citrus gel from Prochem. Or try surgical spirit from the chemist if Prochem not available. Test first of course.

Eco Spotter from Solutions.

I'm assuming your not in the bussiness so only have normal everyday items.
try WD40, nail varnish remover, petrol etc
but test in an inconspicuous place first ;)

If you follow Mike's advice, ignore the petrol. It is so volatile that even a static spark could remove the stain, along with the vinyl, the room, the house..... Really, I've seen it happen when someone was carrying a sealed can of petrol, in an open space, not smoking when whoosh
Very safe and happy cleaning:)

Ken, i was thinking of a dampened rag not 10lts of the stuff ;)
although I've always found a bit of green Scotchbrite & Jif always gets it out of my kitchen lino.

White spirit works just as well as petrol.
