Title: Can it be done?
Post by: Shaun_Ashmore on March 13, 2007, 10:22:09 pm
I have a carpet cleaning Truckmount that holds 70 gallons or approx 300litres of fresh water, is it possible to make this into a pole fed system? what would I need to do ? In an ideal world I'd like to feed the water from the tank through to the 'filteration' (as to make it detachable and use it as needed) that makes the water pure and then (hopefully) away I go....wet legs, well actually clean items.

If you could tell me YES please can you tell me how? and how much? how big? and anything else?

make another outlet on the bottom of the tank and attach a length of hose from here to a pump and switch connected to a deep cycle leisure battery. From pump, attach a length of hose to a DI vessel filled with resin and from resin, a length of hose to a hose reel.
When the pump is switched on and hose control valve openend, it will start drawing water from the tank and pumping it through the resin and up to the brush head.
When pump is off, the water will stay in your tank to be used by your truckmount.

Alternately,.. you could fill the TM tank with water that is already purified/filtered.
Then you'd just need an adapter from the solution hose to the fitting on the pole, and possibly a valve to regulate the pressure.
The advantage would be heat. You'd have a HOT WFP system, which will always out clean a cold system.
