Guys
I take it you know what i mean about "farm" it's the area that you drop leaflets in on a regular basis. how often would a typical home see one of your leaflets.
if it was 20,000 and you dropped 5,000 a week it would be once a month.

Roughly with a 3 letter,
first letter introduces you and tell the customer how good you are and an offer (free room usually) if the customer doesn't take you up on this a
2nd letter is sent with an offer but saying limited spaces left and why havn't you taken us up on this offer (a reminder) then the
3rd letter is a 'last chance' take me up on this offer or it will be gone for ever and never repeated.

send out a 100 letters Cost £36 x 3 letters =£118 plus the time it takes to print them out & put into envelopes (where are you getting the names & address from?) to contact just 100 people.
could you use this time & money more effectively? [/size]
this is the most important question to ask when anyone recommends you spend your money on any type of marketing

Might work with a leaflet drop over a six week period or so :-\.
Don't do leaflets myself, but there's a couple of areas I wouldn't mind targeting.

Ian I live in a town of 28,000 8000 is council tenants. so I do 20,000 monthly split over 4 weeks every month, all these homes are within 4 miles of my home
I've also just committed to an extra 8,ooo in small town 3 miles fro me that will be done every month.
luckily for me I live in an upmarket smallish town where house prices and personal incomes are above the county average, so they support higher prices
