hi all
i ve been trying to find someone to help me clean windows but all i seem to get is muppets or people who want the money but not the work i ve had one lad sad he had clean windows bebore and would like the job so i gave him an interview and he seemed ok so he was going to start today then a day after the interview he text me to say he didnt want the job in the end (i bet hes sitting in front of the telly all day)

good evening you are not the onlyone suffering like that i tried for years try to employ some one but no way noone wants to work and than i gave up on it

The perennial problem seems to be (esp. on domestics) that if they are any good they want to set up on their own and if they aren't any good we don't want them! :)

Try the job centers and not your local Rtards in the pub, also the aint stupid they all get that well if i do it my self i could earn more money, ten olny finding out that they are a mong and cant do it for them selfs.

i wonder how to can develop your business further when you can not seem to get any one good enough to work for you i to have had the same problem

Message to 'Busted':
Just keep your best work, pass/sell on your lowest work or rent out a round and stay a sole trader. Less headaches, stresses, paperwork, sorting out wages, etc. Is it really worth all the hassle for the difference in profit when you put in all the extra effort for staff who don't want to work, can't be bothered, need motivating and need a kick up the backside (so to speak) if you don't keep an eye on them, etc, etc. I've been there, done it, don't wish to do it again, certainly not on a PAYE unless sub contracting out work!!

I know you might not jump at the idea, but what about a Polish lad, they're everywhere and wether or not we agree with them coming over here, they are here for one thing only.....WORK!
I come across lots of them working for my commercial customers and have yet to see one begging in the streets like our bloody lazy countrymen.
Also you wouldn't have to worry too much about them setting up on their own as our customers wouldn't trust them on their own doing our job (hope you understand what I mean, mis-trusting housewive's ect) but as long as they're with you the trust thing shouldn't be a prob.
Just an Idea? These guys are here to work, thats the most important thing here!

P.S. If and when I need someone I would have no worries employing a Polish guy.
Plus would be a good way to learn England's second langauge, Polish!

i agree with easy clean trying to find good workers is such a hassle keep ur best work and plod on i had one lad with me showed him how to use tools ladder safety etc end of day he said ill have to pack it in when i asked why he said his knees were hurting from hitting the rungs my fault again

My 1st thought was the same as Goochie's! Polish have reputations for working hard and the majority are trustworthy and honest and just want to work.
I certainly wouldnt have a problem employing them

I ahd 15yrs of muppets ::) i could write a book get rid of your rubbish and underpriced work and just keep the cream for yourself, thats what i did ;) then only take on high priced jobs 8) there are plenty of muppets about ;D ;D
Anyway must dash its showtime :D

Polish workers might work hard but you would have to wait for them to sober up first round my way 'cos they seem to drink hard too.

My mate owns a big haulage company in Beoley and he has 16 Polish drivers working for and he has had no complaints about them.

I have one guy who is spot on.
He is only young (20) but wants to work is honest and reliable.
Took another on last summer but he was not up to the grade
gave him 6 months but not a good shiner and unreliable.
Now we have moved over to wfp I think the work is easier to learn and I am about to advertise locally for a guy/girl.
I think a girl shiner would be great !
There are people out there but they are just hard to find.
If you want to expand then in my opinion its all about finding the right staff
and treating/paying them well.
You get what you pay for.

Busted its just a thought but why dont you try an agentcy, i aint used them my self but they must be able to send some people out on trials, 1 of them must be half way normal unlike most of the idiots that belong on big brother.

Couldn't agree more! All my guy's work v hard and in return are paid over and above the norm. They get paid holidays and sickness and bonuses.
In return they turn up bang on time, work damn hard, earn a lot of money and we all go home smiling.

I had exactly the same thing.
Put an add in the job centre and all they sent me was idiots.
I stated must have a full driving licence and they sent one chap who turned up on a moped i said do you have a full driving licence and he said no but if i give him a job he will take driving lessons.
Another one again from the job centre said he only want its for one month for a bit of cash in hand and when he feels like it.
I gave up on it and just got shot of a load of work so now its more manageable.

Yes I paid them well straight from the start.
Thay way they are willing to learn, want to learn and take it seriously.
They get equipment a week before they join, get shown what to do and are told to practice, practice, practice!! Works well.
As for what they earn, that is irrelevant. Look at what you are prepared to and can afford to pay someone, work out what you expect back and go from there.
I always have worked on the principle to earn a little off a lot rather than a lot of a little. Has never done me or my company any harm.

i have employed poles / russians etc , and have had no problem at all , their work and language is far , far better than the english boys i have had !

i went to work for a guy before i started up myself and he was such a ****** it was unreal, i remember him bragging about earning 3k a month then saying he was gonna pay me minimum wage for the first few months then see what happens later on,
i quit after a day, seriously why would anyone want to work for a window cleaner when you can do it yourself?
i was just gonna do it for a bit of experience but the guy was such a ****** i had to quit after a day, especially when your given 10 minutes for a lunch break, i almost felt sorry for throwing that brick threw his van window after he refused to pay me! errr not,

Some of these people are just attending interviews to satisy the job center so they can still get their dole for attending interviews

Never use the job center, advertise in your local uni or college and take on 2 or 3 as flexi time.

when im ready i plan on taking an older chap say mid to late fifties and at least you know they will get out of bed in the mornings and they have alot of experience to offer!
