Hi,..
Im just in process of going over to wfp. Which battery is better to use? I have been given a car battery or do I need a leisure battery. Im very new to wfp so any advice would be appreciated.

I would go for the leisure battery myself everytime
fitted with a split charge relay to the vehicle
-
Thanks..Where would i get one from? and what does it do?

any good camping / caravan type place
I am no electrician but there are people on the forum who are
much better qualified on this type of thing.
Think basically the leisure battery is designed for more continual use
and the split charge relay charges it up everytime you start the engine.
If you do not have one you will have to charge the battery yourself daily.
Leisure battery £35-£50
relay £10-£15
I paid an auto electrician around £75 to fit the lot

my wfp kit came today so I was out looking at batteries, apparently a leisure battery is designed to give a charge over a long time, as when running a pump, tv, fridge etc, where a car battery is designed to give a short burst of power, as is needed for starting a car. I will be buying a leisure battery tomorrow, but they don't look cheap.
hope this helps

thanks lawrence

You dont need any other battery , simply wire your system to your car battery , i have been running a twin pump system for over a year now with no problems
Dont over complicate things , keep it simple
Extra Battery not needed , save your money

Looked at trellisk today, its a biggun, looks like it might take two years just to do the risk assesment, let alone clean it.
