If it is a white van I like red and green lettering. Blue can also look well. I notice a lot of vans have pictures relating to whatever service they are providing. Keep it simple as people dont take the time to read too much clutter

Too much detail can only be read when van is not moving. LESS IS MORE.

I agree with Chris...don't clutter the van up with too much verbiage.

Here are some pics of cleaners' vans...

Most professional sign writers will have templates of vans and can sit with you and work out exactly what looks best. A logo will stand out and be remembered.
A picture can say a thousand words...so they say.

Good Luck

I have a signed vehicle and am buying a new vehicle. One point is to go minimal with amount of writing but make sure name and phone number large enough to see when moving.

Get a brochure of your van, they have line drawings in the back with dimensions. Scan same in. Colour in your vans colour using a paint package (I use photoshop). You can then play about with different text  until you get what looks good. Print and take to graphics company to get applied. Easy.

Graphics people have software with all vans on. Just enter van and year and they have exact template to work on. 8)
