Title: RUG PROBLEMS
Post by: cleanimperial on March 11, 2007, 07:43:13 pm
Hi  all

I cleaned a rug last Tuesday and basically I think I have shrunk it. I took the rug away to be cleaned when I started the edges started to distort but the rest was fine I rolled it up and took it back to the customer when I unrolled it it was wavy in the middle I said to the customer that it should settle down but she phoned me Saturday and said she was not happy at all and what could I do about it. Is there any thing I can do?

was it one of the thin laura ashley rug by any chance? if so you will have to lay it flat and put a weighted board on top of it for a couple of days.

                               all the best

What type of rug is it.  A lot of "shrunk" rugs can be fixed by blocking and or other means.  So yes there are things you can do to rectify.  Having said that some rugs cant be fixed by hook or crook. Best, Dave.
