Title: Start up advice needed
Post by: Paul Lincoln on August 17, 2004, 03:20:52 pm
Can anyone advise as to what carpet shampooer to start off with, I have access to a System 7 (Bubble & wand), would this be a good start ?
Any advice appreciated. ??? ??? :-/

Managed to persuade my present employers to get me on the next NCCA course, (lucky) Definately a good start. :D :D

With the utmost respect...contact the NCCA  (National Carpet Cleaners Association tel: 0116 2719550) and book on their next two day training course...there's a lot more to carpet cleaning than a 'carpet shampooer'

Also visit the Carpex 2004 show at ExCel in London on October 8th / 9th...see details on this forum or visit www.carpex.co.uk

'Then' consider which way you want to go!

Regards
Derek

It's a carpet shampooer, I beleive they are hard to get hold of these days (Maybe antique, you never know :D)

Derek,

I'll take your advice on board, thank's for the info No's etc, I have (compared to you pro's) very little floor time, but have used various machine's as part of my job - HWE & Foam based cleaner's, I am becoming more stressed being an employee, and feel this is what I would like to persue as an alternative,
                            Many T's ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Paul,

If you follow Derek's advice you will not even consider the System 7 - It is no where near being an entry-level professional machine.

Sorry Paul !

Didn't wish to sound rude,  just never heard of it, and I'm a bit of an antique myself.

Try a Prochem Steempro. It's a good workhorse and not too expensive.
