Got to go back to my pensioners and clean a really filthy suite.

You can actually see mud type dirt.


Obviously I will vac first.

Was thinking of Pre Spraying with Alltec Gold Traffic Lane ,  THen extracting with Ultimate Master subject to colour test.

Then a mist spray of Fibre and Fabric Rinse .


Or do you think a Micro Splitter would do the job on its own.

Depends a lot on the type of fabric...

DO CHECK IT OVER THROUGHLY FIRST!

Elderley people tend to spend more time than most sitting in their favourite chair...many of them like the traditional tapestry design fabrics. These fabrics are very susceptable to perspiration damage especially on the arms and back cushions which leave the fabric very weak.

I hand clean and rinse and use a protective netting over the weakened areas...written survey and preclean discussion essential

My personal preference is always to use a microsplitter, but it's down to choice, so whatever works for you.

A tip I would give which is especially useful on heavily soiled suites as well as more moderate levels, is to take plenty of towels. Pre-spray as usual then agitate with a folded  towel pad rather than a brush. You are removing soil whilst agitating and also removing moisture. Re-spray if necessary and repeat towelling. Your extraction rinse will be easier and quicker and you are much less likely to over wet with this technique.

I recently cleaned tapestry type suite for pensioner.

Arms & headrest thick with grease.  Used just m/splitter & acid rinse plus small amount of Solution No3
No problem,  looked almost like new.

Is there any difference between using one-step and solutions products? I currently use one-step seeems to perform well..

Both the products mentioned are very similar in performance. There are other very small differences which have no baring on the cleaning efficiency of either. I feel that there is a small but noticeable difference between the perfomance of the two Woolsafe versions. The solutions brand has a lower purchase price, but as far as I'm aware is only available by the case mail order.

Its good to know I apear to be using a method similar to Kens.

I know that is the benifit of these sites.

When I first started I would have just used my brush and extracted.
