Title: Pro 10, windows dry?
Post by: Russell Macdonald on March 06, 2007, 07:42:04 pm
I've been thinking about this, is it worth the extra cost?

So for the past 2 days i've asked all my customers that have been in i have asked them how they consider the results of Wfp with the windows left wet?

ANSWER 99% of the time, its great. Some times the odd spot  :o, but they dont care. All the frames cleaned, all the doors cleaned & the door step sweeped.

Not one would go back to a trad cleaner  ;D.

SORRY PRO 10, GOOD IDEA, NO THANKS.

Surely zero is zero regardless of weather its mesured in ppm or ppb

Yes but when your TDS meter reads 0ppm it's not really 0, more like 0.1 - 0.4 Which is 100 - 400 parts per billion.  Basically water from the new pro 6 is 1000 times more pure than other systems.

As with everything Ionics make, it looks The Biz and no doubt does exactly what it says on the tin and that goes for the PR0-10 aswell.

I Think my PRO-5's are due for an upgrade 8)

Today I've been cleaning with a TDS of 7 PPM.

A little worried I went and checked a house I did earlier and it was perfect.  I honestly couldn't find one defect.  It's leaded at the front and 'normal' to the rear with a large conservatory and I do this job 100% WFP.

Don't you think Pro 6 and/or 10 are for window cleaners with more credit than sense?

What's the point?

Paul, without inviting you into any more controversey or arguments could you say if the pro 10 will be suitable for outsides and more especially domestic outsides?

What is promised is a very exciting development surely you can't blame us for being sceptical.

What's the point? To say you have it, that's all. ::)
To be like Propole and have it as an avatar.

It's not going to clean a window any more than mine or anyone else's system.

Bet it costs thousands, and it's still only as good as the user.

If Pro 10 is suitable for inside work, I can see a use for it on certain commercial work - especially those very high reception areas you sometimes get. Also, it would be OK during very cold spells if it stopped pathways getting wet (and freezing).  However, there are other ways around both these circumstances so I wonder if it would be worth getting if its necessary use were only occasional.

Tosh,

Cleaning with a tds of 7ppm even up to 21ppm is fine ( I dont personally let my tds rise)

Shinner has hit on the nail, basically if you have the right work for it like high internal curtain glass etc then its a good investment.

However if you have a spare few quid and want to be more than a little guy then Pro-10  could be the way to go.

I havent seen or used the Pro-10 so I will comment no further.

One from Gardiner systems.
To put in a van.

I don't bloody know what it's called. ???
It hasn't got Ionics written on it I doubt.

So I didn't pay 3 times over the odds.

Ah, it's only PlebPole. ;D

The older and more experienced you get in life, the more you realise you can get the same for less. ;)

We'd got him on the hook. We were reeling him in. He would have told us more than we know now.You lot are hopeless.
There is an extemely tight lid on this because of the show, but also at the same time he's dying to tell us.We could have tricked the info out of him.

yes of course it would be suitable for outsides! otherwise you'd need to take 2 vans with different systems to every job. that would be stupid.  I'm pretty sure it's meant for commercial work but I don't see why you couldn't use it for domestic.

I think you'd be lucky to see it. I phoned them about it yesterday and all I got is what I'm telling you now.  They said if I wanted to find out more I'd have to come to the cleaning show or go to one of the reach & wash roadshows in the next few months!

Most, if not all my residential customers are now happy with the windows left wet, in fact it's a little treat when they dry, they look out and say ooh look isn't it good, it works, no spotts or smears, gleaming!
Most if not all my commercial customers couldn't really care less as long as they're kept clean.
I think on those two points it's only the window cleaner who needs pleasing with dry windows.
But there is obviously a huge commercial market where this will be usefull if not vital, like indoor shopping arenas with huge glass galleries and curtains etc.  Areas where there are always people about, like airports, train stations, bus stations etc.
I can't see it being for us small fry ;D

It's a bit like a Ferrari, I want one but I can't afford it, or afford to run it, or maintain it.
But I still want one.  And a swimming pool, and a helicopter, and a tennis court, a villa in Tenerife, oh and a butler ;D
