Hi
Noticing the topic about seagrass carpets has made me think about producing a simple identification guide.
Whoever can send us the most number of different images of carpet types will win £30 of Marks and Spencer vouchers.
The photographs must be clearly identifiable close-ups (ideally a cross section photo at reasonable resolution).
To begin with can you please email them to me mike@expresscleaningsupplies.co.uk. Initially, we'll give people until the end of March to send them in before we announce a winner.
Thanks and good luck!
Mike

Mike you could save yourself the trouble. This site gives you a good idea of various carpet types and construction. You could also lift the photos if required.
http://www.ukcarpetsdirect.com/carpets/online-carpet-search/
When you put a search in you will then get a range of carpets, click on the picture and the detail will come up including pile content, method of construction etc.
Whats worrying is the amount of Belgian types now in various guises.

Many thanks John
It'll certainly help althought there's likely to be an issue with copyright and some of the images are quite small.
I'm still keen to get any other images people have or can take.
Thanks again
Mike

£18 a metre for a polprop carpet! I think I'm in the wrong business! Anyone know how to make carpets?
-
About 9 years ago i was talking to a carpet salesman as i cleaned his suite
and saying what S**t Belgian Wilton was.
He said at the time they sold it for £14.99 a metre
they bought it direct from the mill in Belgium for 99p a metre,
added £2 to cover free fitting, £2 for free Gripper Rods,
£3 for free underlay and the rest was for profit.
Needless to say he agreed it was Utter S**T!
