So whats a good day for you then
ie how much you make etc
-
If I reach my monthly target, it means my daily numbers are good too . . . I am then a very happy boy ;D
-
I saw you ask about drive cleaning on the other side of this forum(didn't I?) The expert said the equipment cost £7,000. It seemed a lot to me, but maybe he charges a lot.
My best ever day window cleaning is £80. Very often I earn about £50.

Average £35, if good weather and feeling fit maybe £45 ;)
-
I do hope you guys are all joking :-\
-
£25 a day if I step on gas
-
a good day for me is £70
-
we done £1000000 today hoaah!!
-
Some say £60 is possible, but I don't believe them.

In the summer, using all the daylight hours available and lining up my commercial accounts on the same day I just managed to exceed £60 - so there!
-
Well i aim for £70 but most days do about £35-£40
-
£27-£30
-
A good day for me is if I'm still breathing at the end of it.
-
I on occassions do houses for free just to show I am giving a little back to the community ... ;)
-
a good day for me is if i get a bunk up with one of my clients! ;) ;D
-
You mean we are suppose to charge customers ::)
-
from a standing start, working with a full set of trad tools but no punters you should be aiming at £50 daily(houses). These will (should) then snowball each month as they become due again.
Commercial sites are the best earner but can take several years to start to make the really good money.
£80-100 before breakfast is not unheard of.
don't forget towipe the sills
-
Ian,
My figures £80-£50 were geniune. I haven't been going long. I'm afraid some of the others may have been teasing. But you have to admitt their posts are quite funny.
Matt has started another thread that you can probably see, and was probably prompted by you where you can see the other side of this.
The people who earn the big money are very good at what they do and put a lot of effort into getting to where they are now.

Wish I could afford breakfast :'( :'(

I take it you go for breakfast about 4 in the afternoon then?

Serious answer now. My best ever day was about £250. Some people can do that and more regularly. I tend not to though. There are days I might do £170. There are days when I get to three figures and skive off. There are days when I just want a quick fifty and go home. I have even gone out before just to do one shop front close by and then gone home.
At the moment I can do this because I do not have a full workload. It seems silly busting a gut to get through work more quickly just to get an extra day or two off when I already get a fair bit of time off anyway. When my workload is fuller, I should be earning a lot better.
I don't have a problem putting stuff like this on here as I'm not stating my annual income or anything like that. I run my business with scrupulous honesty and pay my dues to the state anyway.
I doubt that I earn any more than someone with an OK paid job but I do get a lot more free time and a lot more choices about how to live my life. Those are the biggest bonuses and are worth far more than money to me.
-
I hope the first bunch of posters are seriously joking, because on a good day, Gross £150 is easily possible, about 10-15 good sized houses. That's just me. ???
-
when working on my own i regularly do £150 but if i push it a bit can do £200+
having said that it also depends on the day of the week
early in the week its the £200 trailing of to fridays when i just roll over and go back to sleep ;D
-
Being offered a cuppa at every house!
Several years ago on one of the nursing homes I use to clean a certain individual woman always use to cook me a full English breakfast regardless of what time of the day it was. The price for the nursing home wasn't brilliant but the hospitality was!
-
I think that noise you are hearing is another 1000 people rushing to B&Q to buy a squege thingy and a rag ;D
-
A good day for me is £200+ but even £150 is fine.
-
If I work a full day then I'd be very disappointed if I didn't exceed £150 plus...but that doesn't mean I have all full days, depends on circumstances.
Individual days can on occasion far exceed that figure.
But you do need to have well priced work, and you also need to be experienced and quick at what you are doing.
It takes time to become quick, and of course it also takes time to build up enough work so that you are in a position to be able to earn reasonable money.
People outside of window cleaning may well think, "Wow, look at the money you can earn window cleaning!"
And they are right...you CAN earn very good money indeed, but it takes many, many months of hard slog before you get there, in fact, more often it takes a few years :-\
Instant easy money it ain't!
According to the tax man, the average turnover for a window cleaner is around the £17-£19,000 per year, (and that isn't your wage remember) which of course means a great many earn far less than that.
Although a fair target to aim for is £100 and above for your daily turnover, taken over 12 months, even if you regularly top a ton, it's unlikely in the extreme you will be submitting 25k plus to the tax man...

Some of the daily wages some shiners earn
is going to attract an awful lot of people to
window cleaning :(

i,ve been going fulltime since june, before that i only worked on saturdays as a part-timer,i started on 400 per month.I am now a fulltime window cleaner and work on average 3-4 days a week and my monthly income has gone from 400 per month to 1800 and i,m still trying to get it to about 2000 per month,it takes time to build a round, this site has been great for me regarding good advice,if anyone out there is looking to sell off any of your round and you live around southend then give me a call
-
Part time I'm on about 600 per month I would need an awefull lot more to go full time obviously, but I'm working at it. It's a bit like fishing really some days no new customers then other days three or four new ones come in together, the best ones are when you get recommended - lifts you back up again for a while.
-
My wife and I work about 5 1/2 hrs during school time and aim to earn £180 that was traditional, some times hitting £250. We've been wfp about 7 weeks and are suddenly going a lot faster. On some nhs work done on an annual basis we can get £750 in a day but that's a 12 hr day for both of us.

I think that's terrific that you've got that far in just 9 months. I wish the internet was around in its current form when I was early in my business. It would have saved me years of aggro, working underpriced for customers who always had a moan. I just didn't realise what was possible. The forums I use and WFP have revolutionised things for me. After 15 years as a window cleaner, I feel as if I'm barely beginning.

Without you quoting a bit of the text from a post, it's hard to know who you are asking. However, if you were asking me, I've been window cleaning since late 1991.
-
4 hours, 1/2 day, £160, had enough and go home happy

Nah they're having a laugh mate. Sometimes I might only take £50 or £80 in a day but I'm talking about a part day when I'm busy with non work stuff too. Sometimes I just need to pop out to get finished in a particular area and then knock off early to do other things. I find it important to do other (non work) things too as I find window cleaning isn't particularly mentally stimulating.
-
best ever £37
-
When you wake up and the sun is shining and you have a healthy workload ;)
-
Might be for you Ron...
A good day for me is good weather,
Round of golf at Wentworth,
Go racing at Silverstone in a Lamborghini,
3 course meal at the Savoy,
Go out pubbing and clubbing with Girls Aloud,
then back to their place. :P
Never had a day like that mind...
...there's never time for the golf. ;D
-
Squeaky your strange. Thats why i like you ;) , but one of the first rules of business is dont give out your figures, so a good day for me is just geting the work done and home early.
-
Looks like this forum has always been full of smart arses.

A good day for me is not threatening legal action over something trivial. ;D

So it was just a threat?
And you think missing the frames and sills is trivial? :o
