Sorry but I beg to differ purchased glide from woodbridge and one from hydramaster  you can tell the difference the woodbridge glide is too flexible & it doesn't fit the wand correctly. The hydramaster glide fits perfectly and is solid not flexible like the woodbridge glide

but how does it feel on the carpet?

once the woodbridge is sealed on ( with mastic?) does it perform any different.

I have both, Green glides and Ken Harris glides and like Mike say's there is no difference between the two only price it seems. At £39.99 I know which ones I'd buy!
How doe's the old saying go wait long enough at a bus stop and two buses come together. ;D

Steve
I can't coment on the Woodbridge glides as I have never seen one
Who's are they or should I say were do they come from. :-[

Not always,

I bought a Roberts Dab radio for £120, went t*ts up after 18 months, Curry's told me to do one and I was left with a £50 bill to have a new transformer fitted (the thermo switch had failed).

The bloke told me I had paid £120 for a badge, they are all made the same now in the far east, Roberts is not the great British make we once new.

I also have a Sebo BS36 which also after just 2 years I keep having problems with and my Sebo duo has just failed!

funny you should say that Phil, just think how most of the lads on here and other sites feel about Glides from Matt at £39.99 ea when hydramaster and Greeny was selling them for well over £100 in the first place.
Now thats something to have a RANT about don't you think.

It is, £100.00 + vat is way over the top.

Did I ever mention I was the first person in the UK to get a glide?

I've cut and pasted this comment form 2001, god spend too much time on these forums.

David as you got considerably older did you start to repeat yourself?

Funny you should say that Shaun ten years ago when I was 44 and Gordon Williams was 54 half way through a conversation I was having with him he use to say "don't think I'm butting in but I need to say this before I forget" and off he'd go on something completly different to what I was saying, at the time I found it really anonoying. Strange thing is now I find myself doing the very same thing. It must be an age thingy.
Tell me again mate when did yoy first start using glides?

Mine did the same, try turning it round the other way, if that fails you can use something to seal it like mastic.

Mark, Greenie's glides are designed to fit only one way, the right way, that is with the words back  writen on the glide facing you. They have no memory so if you heat it up in hot water and sqeeze it back together it will fit snugley back on your wand. A little tip if  you file a groove in one side of the spray shield on your wand the glide will slide nicely alone the lips of the wand without damageing the glide thus making it easer to remove to clean

I use two small pieces of blue tack at each end of my glide to seal it to the wand this stops any air sucking through the ends of the glide.
Some will say it restricts the air flow but I have found the carpets dry far better

listening to everything said about glides
you must have to change your technique
as i gather makes your wand feel light as a feather probably feels like theres no suction
i like to feel the pull on the carpet do you loose this
