On the BBC Breakfast programe, the weather girl annonced, this morning, that " last year, was the mildest for THREE HUNDRED AND SIXTY YEARS "
SO......................Who was causing Global Warming over three centuries ago ?
Was it friction, from cart wheels
Was the ozone being depleted by their cooking fires
Was it excessive wind ( farting ) due to their healthy diets
Or what ?
A recent program showed the result of extensive research which illustrated, clearly, that the earth is subject to 3000 year cycles, when the ice cap increases, to cover a much greater area of the planet, then, there is a period of gradual warming and so on.

They have trouble making acurate thermometers now. How the hell did they know the temperature then?

Morning John
Have you been to Egypt, or The Andes, or Crete.
3500 YEARS AGO they were building and carrying out operations with incredible precision, which is only matched today, with computer aids and massive machinery !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As they say.........there's little around that.s really new!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Guys,
I personally think that all this 'Global Warming; is not true! and it's stirred-up by the goverment just to extract more stealth taxes from us poor meer mortals.

The earth is 4.54 BILLION years old. Our current Met office weather records go back 150 years!!!!!! ;D ;D
How the hell can we make any sort of climate prediction over a such a minute space of time. The climate may warm up gradually over a very short period of time such as 20 million years then the temp may begin to drop.
If we had records stretching back about 2 billion years then we could be fairly accurate in predicting the weather patterns of our earth. As for 150 years, they might as well bin all the collected data, its pointless!!

Hi
It is not that we are responsible for Global warming, but we are certainly not helping.
Global warming moves in cycles and has happened many times, but it taken millions of years, what is happening now is happening faster because of us.
The sun is also getting hotter (about 10 oC every billion years) so in the end we are doomed anyway to boil to death.
Of course we could hopefully escape by then, but then the universe is expanding and is doing so faster & faster. The result of this is that planets will die at a faster rate and from this there will be no escape.

Happy days ahead then.
-
if the universe is expanding , we will move further away from the sun, meaning the dreaded Januarys and Febuarys will last even longer.

I agree with Doctor Doom , oops sorry i mean Martin.
To reach the nearest star It would take 10,000 light years travelling at the speed of light ( unless of course you took the express route which knocks a hour off the journey) ;D

Doomsday will not happen in my liftime, but if Im lucky enough to have gtandchildren it could happen in theirs.
I do believe Science will come to are rescue as it will find alternitive fuels send rockets to distribute a particle shiels to deflect heat etc
George Bush now half believes

Matt Lindus.
How do you know the earth is 4.54 billion years old were you there at the beginning? If not you have to rely on carbon dating, now provrd to be very unreliable........
-
I hear on the news today that people who are into sports / keeping fit / running etc are consuming much more oxogen than thy aught to and are adding millions of extra tons of carbon ito the atmosphere. :o
Bejesus! Be a couch potatoe and we won't tax you for breathing too much! ::)

Hi
Channel 4, 9pm next Thursday.
Global Warming, The Great swindle.
Now, the weird thing is that we need CO2 for the plants to survive, this is what they eat (so to speak) so why the big hoohah about CO2?
I saw yesterday about the Mayan calender. They are the only civilization to name the date where we 'pop our clogs'.
The 21st of december 2012!
Five years!
Holy mother of cr*p!
They have predicted quite acurately events throughout history, lets hope they're wrong this time?

They could at least let us get Xmas out of the way.
