Ian,
As you are helping other carpet cleaners I will ask Mitch who is The Computer Wizzard at Express .
One concern I have is who owns the copyright pf Clips , or is this the first Ian harper Production.
If it is I think there is a Market for simple Training DVDS and suggest you market them on Ebay
Ive seem them on Window Cleaning and Car Valeting.Mobile catering Making Dolls Houses etc
I have just asked if it is possible to have a Video Section.

I fully understand you worries about copyright. as you know this area has changed a lot lately with service like you tube and alike.
In the press and media you get articles all the time about content like books, dvd's and music. its down to how its used.
for example, if i was to review the richard and judy clip the context of usage changes. its not a profitable use it a review one. you can say that you would have to seek permission first, but look at the clips on your tube it does not look like this is the case anymore. if it was then we would not see the amount of copyrights content that we now do.
With your tube starting to pay for clips might change things.
lots of people use copyrighted music over their home made videos. and the music people who are the most active in this area have not commented on it yet.
My view is use it until you are told not to and always never sell any content that is not yours.
By reviewing content it gives publicity to it and can only profit the producers in the end.
where would radio and music industry be without each other. i know money is involved here.
anyway its only a mater of time until i get my own equipment and the knowledge to start producing stuff. and i have not problem with others using it.
I am a great believer in public domain. I think this forum program is what is call open source, in other word produced by people free of charge.
Did you know that say for example you bought a learning program on carpet cleaning that once you have learnt it as long as you not copy in word for word you could setup your own one and sell it with what you learnt on the one you paid for.
once something is in your head its yours, knowledge has no copyright where would schools be if there was?
on the subject of stuff that I am producing it very basic at the moment but i am going to get a HD setup later this year, no point in producing stuff that will have limit shelve life and poor quality.
Dont get me wrong I don't want slick productions as this turns prospect of, just easy on the eye.
It would be nice if this forum can have a video section as it would benefit us by being able to see what results people get with machine chemicals etc. no more BS
For example this new portable machine with its new heat system. it would be nice if the producers produced a video, but someone who buys one could shot one and post it as a review.
I know a guy years ago that used to have a fan magazine on gaming and it only had a few hundred people that bought it, but he use to get games sent to him free of charge to review. how great would it be for say this forum to have a group of people to review stuff for us all?
You could take this as far as high tech testing that could then be used in marketing the products to our customers. for example if a producers claims that his machine does x amount of water lift it would be nice to have the equipment to test this out independently
or if they say their product killed dust mite without dwell time show us or prove to us independently that it does. for example woolsafe do lots of testing on products, they know which ones perform better than others but don't tell us because they have been paid by the product makers. how useful would this info be to us?
sorry i know i gone off subject but its all related.
Respect
