Hi all
We cleaned a house yesterday WFP and have been cleaning this house for the last 6 months
the problem i know have is that the rubber / mastic that the windows have been put in with is starting to bleed oil ,
(by windows i mean the actual glass)
that is i think that the oil in the sealant is starting to brake down and as we clean the brush is picking up the oil and leaving it on the window in what looks like small lines or scratches.
this is only happening on the downstairs windows ,and we have had to clean them with our trad kit to remove the marks
anyone with any thoughts or has this happened to you ?
this is going to be a nightmare of a job if it starts happening to them all

Interesting post!
I have a couple of windows that come up similar to the ones you mentioned.
Only, with my ones it looks like a oil spill on the glass.
Matt
P.S I never once thought that it could be the mastic :-[
But it sounds like thats the problem
