hi guys, a bit of advice if you can please!
I am just starting up as a trad window cleaner and am finding it hard to pick up work, i have placed ads in the local shops and one in the local paper but to date i have only had about 5 people answer, i would like to try canvassing but i am totally clueless as to what to say. is there a good day or time of day to call on people, any help or tips on bringing in customers would be great, thanks! ???

Hi
I run a domestic cleaning service and I have found advertising in the Yellow Pages a huge help. Nearly  100% of my clients have come from my Yellow Pages ad. It costs around 26 pounds a month for a small ad, which is definately worth paying especially if it brings alot of work your way. Nows the time to put your advert in, if you do decide to, as the new Yellow Pages comes out in June(well it does in this area anyway, not sure if it varies in different areas of the uk?). Word of mouth is sucessful too, do you know any cleaning services? There maybe cleaning services that are looking for a window cleaner for big jobs like new build cleans, letting/tenancy cleans. It might be worth writing to some and offering your window cleaning services.
Good Luck
