Title: Do I need to pump through a DI or not?

Hi All
Will a DI vessel work OK if I connect it gravity fed from an IBC thats stood 4 feet off the ground? Or must water be pumped through it?

Reason - To make all my stored water from the RO zero TDS so that my shureflo backpack can be topped up with 100% pure water( I have 2 IBCs at ground level to hold the 100% pure)
