Title: Water Pressure

The psi out of the tap on my house is 82. 

Prior to the filter housing it is 82psi with the RO set to 100% waste.  IF I set the RO to 50/50 then the psi drops to about 50psi or so.

Does everyone experience this drop?

If so then the membrane is only getting about 50psi or less to work with.

I will plumb the pressure guage in after the filters and see what the psi is there.  My guess is that it is even lower.

Can you give me the model number and brand of membrane you have?

I looked at the pics you posted and it does look like a tape wrapped desal AK4040low energy membrane but I'm not 100% sure.  If it is then you must have a faulty membrane.

I looked into your membrane model, its made for high pressure systems with a typical input pressure of 15bar = 225psi.

Thats why your membrane isn't working how you would like it, unfortunately unless you can get your money back you are going to have to buy a booster pump to up the pressure to at least 200psi with a flow rate greater than 20ltrs/min.

You'd probably be better off buying a new membrane, the model you want is the GE osmonics desal AK4040TF or you could go for a filmtec xle4040 membrane (desal is better though).

The low pressure membrane is what most folks are using with their systems in the UK then?

Im pretty sure they sent me the wrong one then.

I talked to the guy on the phone and told him the situation and that I didn't want a high pressure membrane.

We'll see what comes of this tomorrow.
