We have been with a client for over two years now. We have had know complaints know problems and they still will not give us any keys. I clean the job myself because it is a nightmare to staff ItS only four hrs per week. I think it is a bloody insult.
WOULD YOU KEEP THE JOB ?

if its more trouble than its worth, no :(

Some people dont like handing out keys, for various reasons, you say yourself the job is a nightmare, although you dont explain why ;D.
Any extra hassle, that the job puts you through, for whatever reason, means an opportunity to charge more than normal, as a means of compensating you for the extra grief, if you like, much better, this way, than to walk away from a regular contract.
If the client, queries this sudden price increase, be honest and professional with them, and explain, that their own insistance on doing things their way, increases your own difficultly in servicing this contract, hence the extra cost, clients very rarely, mean to cause offence, mostly its just a lack of technical knowledge and communication, try not to let it get you down, or take it too personally, regards,

Hi there,
I have had the same problem - do they own or rent the property? Often if it's rented they don't want the risk of too may people having a key to the home. Often there is a simple reason and it's probably not that they don't trust you, perhaps it's worth just asking them and from their response you can decide whether or not to keep them? Good luck...

Personally, I do not see this as a problem, we have quite a few customers that keep hold of keys. Also, customers that literally follow us from room 2 room whilst carrying out duties.
One lady customer who is in her 80's, is one of the followers, and I asked her if she did not trust us in her house. her response was that the thought had not even crossed her mind, only that she liked the company as she is on her own for most of the week.... :)
I would not let it worry you, if the job is paying, keep it...
Regards
Paul
