Shawn - Builders cleans are a nightmare if not priced properly I know from experience.
The windows alone on a 3 bed semi seem to take forever as they are normally covered in mortar.
Then floors to scrape , surrounds of windows, all paintwork.
I underpriced for ages thinking it would not take that long and wished I had never quoted.
3 bed Semi minimum £300 depending on the state of it.
We did a 20 bed care home recently, floors, windows in/out,paintwork,radiators,bathrooms,fixtures +fittings I quoted £3,200 I thought it was a high price at the time but it was not then to rub salt into the wounds I found out off the foreman that the next quote up was £7,500.
We did a great job and are now doing alot more work for the same company but at higher prices so the low price got me in there to show your worth then to charge higher.
There is a contract going up for grabs from julianbiggs on this forum for a £10,000 contract to clean 25 houses 4 times but after working it out it works out at £100 per clean. (4 cleans per house x 25 houses.
Just be careful because it does get you down if it turns out poor.
In my eyes you pay for what you get.
Good luck Robbie - Clearshine - Harrogate

Yes there was a contract which i have SOLD..... 4 cleans... Builders clean / reclean / 2nd reclean and a final sparkle clean....I have always been honest on my emails and stated that the intitial builder's clean is hard work, but the final three cleans are a doddle....Ive done over a hundred individual sites now and a builders clean, done properly, which we do, takes 2 of us 1 whole day...10 hours each...but that then means that the remaining recleans and sparkles are easy...I did a sparkle clean last week on a big 5 bed detached house and it took me alone, 5 hours..It was £160...that is good money as far as i'm concerned. Once again Clean It Up goes back to:
If you are are hard worker, and a clever businessman, you can make a success of window cleaning.

hi shawn,
I calculated that you've got a total of 60 plots to clean the windows, so a lump sum of £3600 equals £60 a plot.
That's a good price in my opinion, for two bed apartments I'm charging about £35, that's just for exteriors.
Cheers,
Huw.

Hi
Look at the size of the job, Think about how long it would take you to do it, How bad are they, How many men you`l have on the job, How much you pay you pay your men, NOW REMEMBER BUILDERS CLEANS ARE A ONE OFF !! Think about what you want to make, cover your costs, then add 50% or if you think you can do it go 100%. Don`t forget your regs.

Hi
REGS are your everyday jobs, the ones that pay your bills. one offs are the one s you can make ££££ . Make yourself known, be seen, drop your cards, talk to the boss, not the forman. If you have to blagg them find outwho the the boss is, phone them you can make money. get in now. Michael D
