Any of you guys use a generator, Im looking for one to run a henry vacuum, any ideas which one i need and that are reliable etc

Hi Stu,

I had a similar idea about geting a generator to run my Henry for car valeting. However due to the large current drain by the Henry's motor on start up, I apparently needed to buy a generator with something like a 2.2 Kva output. These are quite large and I don't have enough, (any) space in my van already so I left it.

I'll be interested to see what other replies you get in case there are other options.

If you are using it near your vehicle use an inverter. This is what the windscreen repair guys use to run their Henry's to suck up all the broken glass. Turns 12 volt into 230.

Now that's a good idea.....but do they drain your battery pretty quickly ?

I think they carry an additional battery linked to the vehicle charging system.

hi there,

on board generator and water supplies, are worth their weight in gold,  complete self sufficiency in any circumstance.

it will pay for itself time over

Had a price today for an 1500 watt inverter, £280 plus vat plus croc clips plus hard wire fixing if neccassery :( would have to leave engine running while vaccuuming as well as drain battery quickly.....food for thought considering the job is only worth £75 a month, may stick to old fashioned way and use brush and dustpan!

hi there

this is why the generator solution is far more effective.  and with both 110v and 240v outlets, provides a tool with a wide range of uses.
