Title: Hose sizes for static system
Post by: U.S. wfp USER on February 18, 2007, 03:29:54 pm
When setting up a static RO system what size hose is best to use?

Is it better to use a 1/2" vs. 3/8" so that you can get better water flow?

Thanks.

This depends on your RO unit.

If you are using a 4040 RO then 1/2" hose is what you need.
If you are using a Merlin then 1/2" pipe (John Guest) is what you need
If you are using a 100-450gpd Ro then 1/4" pipe (John Guest) is fine.

A good guide is to look at what the individual components within the systems are connected with and then match this.

I am building a 4040 with 4"x20" prefilters so I was thinking that the 1/2" would be better for water flow purposes.
