I very nearly bought an Ergo-lite carbon fibre pole today, but I managed to resist the impulse-buy.
You know how it starts :
"Hmm, that brush head is getting worn. I do need a new brush head. Actually, a new pole would be nice, would look good to customers too - just a fibre glass one though.
Look at that though, the carbon fibre ones are only a couple of hundred more, hmmm...
BUT I used an ergo-lite a few weeks ago and it was very good. Its not THAT much more really, when you think how good it is. And thats what you need for a professional image.
Yeah, carbon fibre ergo-lite, really its the only pole to have.
Pay for itself practically, will all the business it'll bring in.
Imagine the work you could do with it. And its a lot easier to use. There's no choice really, its got to be an ergo-lite."
Then I thought :
Hold on a minute, Brush head = about £50
Ergo-lite = about £1,050
Somewhere down the line there I spent an extra £1,000 because I needed a new brush head!
Phew, glad I resisted the impulse, or I'd be losing sleep now.
That ergo-lite is on my shopping list, but I'll wait till I get a few new contracts maybe!
We're funny old things, aren't we?

Hi Pkil,
The Ergolite is a top pole well worth having, they do seem expensive but you get what you pay for.

Yes, no doubt about it is a top quality pole.
The reason I wanted that one is because the sections are 6ft long. I'm not a tall chap, and I just cant reach the clamps on 8ft sections. The ergo lites are the only ones at this height to have 6 ft sections.
(The H&S guidlines that inspired Ionic to make the "ergo-lite" range made specific mention of the issue of being able to reach the clamps. Hence its the only 45ft pole with 6ft sections)
I used one at the British Window Cleaning Academy's wfp course, and it was excellent.
Just need to raise the cash now (somehow!)

From a Beginners point of view:
Am using Peters trolley system at present and wish to get into commercial work with brother in new venture so when Ionics demoed system for me with comparable glass fibre pole REALLY NO COMPARISON so when ready to set up new business will go ergo lite route, even my bro who this is new to instantly agreed the only pole to have !!!!!!!! And that from a luddite ;D

personally i didn,t like the ergolite i have already bought 2 carbon fibre and find that the additional cost does not compensate for the wear as these poles only wear down slightly less rapidly than a fibreglass and if yourf going in for employing people you have got too remember that they will chuck them around like the fibreglass i,m all for durability of kit i have dropped a carbon and it snapped like a carrot whereas the fibreglass is much tougher. how much do those sections cost to replace?
