Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone who carries out Pressure Washing or Patio Cleaning has encountered rust marks on slabs, and if so how you may have removed them.
Got a customer who had some building work carried out and has dicovered rust marks on her patio where the feet of the scafolding poles sat.
Thanks.

hi there
try brick acid, 18% or stronger if you can get it, and then rinse.
better still get the client to charge the builder for a replacement, i dread to think what the rest of the place is like if the scaffolding left thode marks.

Les,
If you can get hold of it Oxalic Acid, will shift Rust stains, DON'T use bleach of any sort as it somehow seals the rust and makes it also impossible to shift.

phosphoric acid works well .

brick acid ( dilute hydrochloric acid) from any builders merchant, dwell 5 mins, turbo lance . repeat as needed. job done. easy peasy.

Tanks all for the tips and details. I will give them a go.
Martin, the rest of the building job looks ok which is why I was surprised to see the stains. I don't know if they usually put somethhing under the base plate to prevent it happening. ;)
