Wow, check this, a mate got a job to do a flat clearance and i went to help as its is a very big job, woman died a few weeks ago and he was asked to clear the flat of everything!!
Started off that she had actually barricaded herself in before she died and the police had to break the door down to gain access then they were in shock at the state of the place.

Back tomorrow to finish up and diss-infect the whole flat
Its hard to believe that someone could live like this whilst having a full time job and no one notice, mad.
Man what a day, i need a bath!

We did a 'druggies' house last year, unpleasant vile job, but nowhere near the amount of rubbish in that old biddy's flat!!
We filled 2 skips (supplied by firm), swept out and vacuumed, gave the bathroom and kitchen a good clean, and the 2 of us were off home after 7 hours....£600 :D
And I only puked up once !!

Don't know about you, but I find these pics a bit distressing like peeping into someones privacy if you can understand me. Particulary as the old lady died. I'm not knocking anyone and these things do happen. But I don't think the aftermath should be publicly displayed in this fashion. :'(
If you don't agree, then I'm truly sorry just ignore me, I'll probably end up old and lonely like that

It's just occured to me, the first photo's date 18 Jan are obviously photo's the main contractor has been sent by the authorities to give him an idea as to the amount of work to be done to aid in pricing etc; I don't think they were intended for publication in this manner. The last couple are your own showing the progress you have made. Once again sorry it's probably just me, my medication is wearing off!

Well I wasn't too distressed by your photo's as sights such as theses can be seen on TV series such as 'Life of Grime' and for anyone with teenage son's still at home you will know we encounter scene's like these whenever we dare enter their room :o
I had a nice callout last friday by a lady who told me her 91 year old father had an 'accident' :P and then proceeded to walk all around their bungalow. If I say that he has an addiction to 'Laxatives' you may have a better idea of what I ecountered :o :P
Sorry but didn't think to take any photo's so you will have to picture the scene yourselvs ;) ::)
Apparently she had been in a panic and caled at a neighbour who reccomended me......nice to know you come to mind at times like these eh ? ;) :) ;D

hi there,
you 'll be amazed how many places there are similar to yur pics, there are properties being cleared every day of the week, all over the country,
and its great work if you can get it.

Hi Les,
It's not so much the state of the flat, as what happened there. Tv series etc must get the permissions of people involved surley, before they broadcast anything. Anyway I'm just a big softy, and will use it as a reminder to try and keep an eye on the people around me.

hi there
unfrtunately we are living in a faster and faster society, we are working more hours for mor money to buy more things, and if you dont step back and take a look at the situation then you just end up going round in a circle.
few families spend time with each other, and neighbourhoods and friends, seem not to care too much about each other.
luckily i must say the street i live in is great, good friends, good bbq's and the do help anyone out culture. that way if smeting does happen t somebody, at least it might get noticed.
whats the point in working so damn hard, if you dont enjoy the rest of your life, whilst clients and customers are important, friends have got to rate higher in the order of importance.
its just an opinion.
regards
martin

i once had the pleasure of cleaning a house that hadnt been cleaned for 3 years. spent 4 hours in one room (the food bedroom) just throwing out out of date food and trying to make semblance of what was left.
needless to say an awful lot of stuff needed throwing out but the owner wasnt prepared to do that so we ended up haveing to admit defeat and leave the rest of the house.
i spent a fair bit of time in the kitchen, not cleaning but tidying up, and throughout my time in there discovered a layer of old greay and fat and covered virtually EVERY surface INCLUDING inside the kitchen units!!! To this day I still cant work out how it got inside the units. Needless to say the ONLY way forward for her was to have everything in the kitchen ripped out (no I didn't suggest it)
But as we werent able to complete the job due top unco-operative client i put it down to experience and gave up :-\

The first photos were taken by us and we have asked the family (to be honest not that they really care) if we could publish them and they agreed, my mate got the job from a web seach by the family for house clearance sanitisation, so he was the main contractor. We intend to use them for future work as a "this is what we can do" style.
It is a sad fact that this woman died in this way but she chose to live like this and someone has to clean it up, when cleaning we obviously acted in a very professional manner it was the "family" who to be honest actually showed no respect.

I bought a house like that once.......at half its value.....as the estate agents wouldnt go inside or put it on their books. It had to be sold as it was in a divorce settlement. We had 7 skips filled in two days, fumigated it, did it up and sold it on at full price.
we found a carrier bag with dead kittens in, the 11 yr old son slept on the floor of his mums bed, next to her rotting knickers & manky vibrators.
Weird thing was, 2 years prior it had £32,000 grant spent on it. Under the muck, the bones were perfect. We only fitted new kitchen becasue it had collapsed under the weight of rubbish. We decorated, polished the floors, fitted a kitchen, landscaped the garden & put in a drive/gates. Bingo...doubled in value. ;D
