Hi all
I know this is old stuff to most of you guys. But i am curious to know what output people are getting from their RO's.
I have a 300 GPD but it takes 11 hours to fill my 250 ltr tank. My tap TDS is 379ppm out of RO 13 ppm after resin 0ppm. I have a booster installed also.
Is there anything else i can do to improve RO performance.

what pressure is the pump at?
-
Hi Chris
The pump is not variable but has a max boost of 120psi. I assume that is somewhere near where it is.

your RO is it a dual or tripple membrane ( i asume its a "ro-man" type r/o unit not a 40/40 RO)
Chris

Correct :)
Triple membrane RO-MAN type filter.

your pump is only working at 75psi
is there any way you can turn it up , you said it can boost to 120 psi is there an adjustment on it?
Chris
-
no, its a case of turn on/off. There are no external adjustments.

what sort of pump is it, where did you buy it, etc

???

Hi Chris
Sorry for the delay, had to hit the sack :)
The pump is made by a company called jeak. I purchased it from adapta engineering (pure freedom) Grimsby.

I too have the Ro-Man 300Gpd, but have the old ro-man pump box to boost it, and I fill my 400L tank in about 7hrs, 160-190tds in, 000-001 out before di.
I would have to say that your booster pump is the most likely suspect, it may give enough pressure, but it sounds like it cant produce enough volume or flow rate to keep up with the Ro.

I would agree with that it does seem that the pump is the problem, I have the old RO Man pump box too and fill 2x210l barrels in about 6/7 hrs, my input tds is around the 500 mark, out of the RO it is down to 5/6 tds the pump works at 105psi
Mybe you could fit one of these to see exactly what the input pressure is

Oh and as an after thought where is you pump in relation to the setup? Idealy it should be connected after the prefilters but before the RO membranes

Hi again
Thanks for the advice. My pump is situated after the pre filters and before the membranes as you say. Looks like i need to look further :(
Thanks again

I would bin the pump, its not up to the job, also change your prefilters. Get the booster box from ro-man, good piece of kit.

I think the booster box is unfortunately not available anymore (or at least not listed on their website anymore)
Which IMO is a great shame as this is an excellent piece of kit
