hi all
i have had my 4040 ro for about 6 months now and seems to be producing water really badly not a good ltr per minute ration about 1.8ltrs , its boosted with a 100 psi shurflo , can carbon a nd sediment filters cause this ???
or what could it be the battery running the pump is a 95 ah so more than enough power !
i had it plugged up to a tap and only 1/4 filled my 650 in and hour and 40 min
please help!

ok shawn make sure you have clean, fresh filters (sediment and carbon), also when was the last time you back flushed the ro?

how long is the best amount to backwash the ro ?

I had the same problem myself back a long changed my filters and all was fine
As to back washing my ro i usualy leave it on full flush for 15 mins every week

the membrane is only 6 months old and produced about 10000 ltrs

its the pump.
the pump may be 100p.s.i., but i bet you a quid its got 1.8 LPM printed on it as well, you need somthing thats high flow as well as high pressure.

(this pump is also available from machine mart ;) )
have you even tried running it without the pump, as maybe the low flow rate of the pump could even be throttling you tap water flow ??

if it was working okay and producing good amount water
fault points towards a few options
need to change pre filters
need to spend more time cleaning the membrain
may have blown the presure switch in pump

i dont use the pressure swith as when i first got the pump it blew .. so just bypassed the pressure switch.. changed prefilters today..
