Post by: Mark Stanley on February 12, 2007, 04:19:56 pm
Anyone had any experience with this company. I am looking to have a web presence.

£3.99 p/m , with a built in web builder.

Thoughts please / or other recommendations.

two ways you can use web sites first is driving traffic from the web and second, is where you expand your marketing message in other media like, yell, leaflets, etc.

if you are going to use the first option then FREE web space is the way to go. you get a sub domain name and space for free. not all but most will want to place small adverts on the top of your site. take a look at one of my free sites

the url or address is not that important when using search engines to provide prospects to your site. they become important when used in other meadia when prospects have to type them in.

anyway here is the company i use.

good luck

good choice the sitebuilder is really easy to use, the only thing is (and i doubt it will effect you) you can`t edit the HTML directly because if you do then the next time you publish your site using sitebuilder the changes you made to the html will not show.

I used site builder to build my site and I now edit it through the HTML using noteppad, to access your FTP folder(the online folder containing your website files) type your web address replacing the http://www.  with  ftp://ftp.

This is the only thing I can knock them on, and it`s unavoidable so you cant hold it against them. The technical support is spot on, their staff seem to know everything ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

yes I done it all in site builder, the only thing I do now is add links and things like that directly into the html. Ive added a few things like the fading between pages (only in internet explorer) but the bulk of it was done on sitebuilder.

check out the matrix stats aswell, you get full stats on the visitors of your site
when they entered and what page
when they left and what page
how long they was on your site
where they came from, ie google, msn etc etc
what keywords they used to find you
ip address

and a load more and its all included in the £3 a month  ;D ;D
Like I said quality service that I would highly reccomend to any one.......

ps. where are you based?

I get most of my work from my site, but i`ve spent hours, days, weeks and months to get good rankings in the search engines.

I`m currently holding the no1 position for most of my search terms on msn I did have  the no1 on google but my site was offline (my fault not fasthosts) for a couple of weeks so that knocked me back a bit, but I should be back there by next month.

Yahoo is the hardest one to get good rankings on but i`m getting there slowly.

Mark i have sent you an email,

I used a keyword suggestion tool, you type in a keyword and it gives you a list of relevant words,

But now i look at my stats to see what keywords people are typing in. :D

with respect

dont you think that these tools look at things from the search engine end, and not what is being type in? as you now are doing it far beter to use the stats keywords. have you started to put these words into the text on your page? as this will also help?

yer I have a keyword density of 3-6% for all my keywords, I should be back to the no1 spot on google by next month.
