Got a regular customer. Clean her lounge three times and she had shes had it cleaned by ChemDry and another using Host. Each time, marks are removed and sure enough return again. Exactly the same marks in the same place. Has happened ever since they moved to the house. Any ideas? Maybe something happening during manufacture? The last time I treated the marks I used 3 different spotters each on them and really gave them extra attention. Made no difference.

Is her address isn't Amityville avenue by any chance?

What type of marks ? are they near the edge of the room? could be where a carpet fitter has penetrated through the carpet with his knee kicker...taping the back of the carpet would prob solve that one, i see that a lot ...not that a fitter would ever admit to it !

The marks are all over the carpet. Insurance payed out and she replaced it. But I was curious what could have caused the problem.

Chris,
You say you used three spotters, was one of them a solvent spotter. As you probably know you can remove the soil that has adhered to a greasy or oily spot and it will look clean, but unless you use a solvent spotter the oil or grease is still there and will quickly resoil or re-spot. If only water based cleaners or spotters have been used, this could explain why the spots return.

Sounds like filtration marks to me from the fitters knee kicker. Were they along the side of the walls about 4 inchs from the wall and did they look like dotted lines?

Marks were all over carpet and yes i used a solvent spotter.
