this might get moved but if anyone has sat nav and pays for traffic alerts, is it worth it?

I have the TomTom 1 and it is fantastic.  The traffic alerts have saved me a small fortune in time and money.
It all depends on where you live and whether or not you get stuck in jams a lot.
