you could just relacquer the pole - cheap and effective.
-
how do you do that its really worn,
in fact i think its more the clamp than the pole,
but any tips welcome
-
easy, all you need to do is very lightly sand the pole (wire wool ) and clean the pole, then spray 3 films of lacquer on the pole allowing 20 mins between each coat. Allow to dry for 24hrs and this should give the pole another 3 months or so of service.

would you not just renew the clamp? cheap and easy to do and that is what the problem will be.

both clamps are worn they are £19 each ???

as for the bands they are pense, quicker than the clamps aswell,
might try the laqour thing though

I just use car paint lacquer, halfords sell it in an aerosol can for about £6, should do an 18ft pole about 6 times.
