The BWCA has announced a number of regional training courses to be held in various locations in the UK. The first will be in Edinburgh on 22nd September.

Well, as I'm in Edinburgh, it would be churlish of me to refuse Craig's kind offer, so I've signed up to say I'm definitely interested, and I'm sure I'll learn something new.
It seems to be an intensive day of it - the morning is taken up with window cleaning skills and the afternoon has wfp use and also Health & Safety basics.
Can I ask anyone who has already been on Craig's courses to give an indication of the content?
Did you find it useful?
How much did you already know about the topics through practical experience?
Will being certified (I know!) as a window cleaner help in any way?
Do you think it's value for money, remembering that I'm a Tight Old Scot of advanced years and can remember £.S.D. - that's when a Pound was a Pound and not 100 of these new-fangled pence.
Should I take the two lads along, or show them my notes later?

I have been on 3 of the BWCA's courses and I would recommend them to ALL window cleaners.
Being certified is a good thing to put on your stationery etc. especially when quoting for commercial work.
The H&S is not just general health and safety, it is targeted at the issues us window cleaners face, from a window cleaners perspective.
In my opinion Davie, you wont be dissappointed. The hundred quid, will be money well spent.
I am not new to window cleaning, and I learned a great deal on these courses. The Water-fed pole course was especially good, lots of information I'd often wondered about. Andy was there too (poleman) he might give a bit of an overview too.
I would take your employees, it will help them to take their job more seriously, and be proud to be a window cleaner, which we all should be.

Heh, if I could've somehow get the BWCA logo in there too I would!
Also worth mentioning, there were some ladies on the courses too, so it wasnt just a "bloke" day.

Although I know through you guys mentioning it on here that BWCA do a marketing course, C4/Marketing wasn't mentioned in the details I found.

Is this to be a separate regional training course at a later date, or is it only held at Ionic House?

The regional courses are an amalgamation of the first three courses covering all of the most relavent issues. The full courses are currently only available in Wiltshire, however with greater industry support we may expect to see those courses rolled out across the UK at a later date.

There is a course in Sheffield, it will be a shorter drive for you than it will be for us!

Thanks for the Courses, was good to meet you, i did not get time at the end of the Courses to ask you but what does it take to be NVQ certified? I have now completed WFP2 & MK4 do I only need to do HS3 & SK1 to be NVQ certified?
