Title: FAO David@StIves (Ladderfree)
Post by: S.A.J on February 03, 2007, 06:16:36 pm
Hi David i received some information through the post today on laddersfree and they say you are a member. One question really

Have you had any worth while work from them?

I almost joined last year but it did not seem right at the time.

Or any one else had any decent work from them?
Or any feed back good or bad?

I was with them, I got one request to do a quote, but i never got the job.

I am no longer a member,

They also offered me a 4 storey building 450 windows they offered me £175 to do it on a monthly basis, I luckily pulled out at the last minute, the words rip off spring to mind.

It was not very professional of me pulling out at the last minute, but i am glad i did.

I will send you photos of the job and let you decide what you think yourself.

Dave,

I wonder if it was the same as one of the jobs they asked me to quote for?

I was asked to quote on several very large Hotels and never heard anything back from them. I never thought that I would though as the hotels had previously just got their porters to do it for free!

Alex

I got asked to quote the biggest hotel in padstow , forget the name of it, I quoted £400 , big 5 storey old rotten frames hundreds of windows and all sorts of access problems.

Also the 450 window one was in Truro a retirement complex.

No not the same ones!!

I quoted on the Atlantic hotel at Newquay (5 stories about 600 windows) and another large 5 storey Hotel in Newquay (cannot remember the name).

I'm not sorry they didn't work out, getting into Newquay in the summer is hard work.

i also had it sent to me, i don't need to tell the whole world that i'm ladder free (at a cost of £95) when the sign writing on my van says i use water fed poles.

i could find something better to spend my £95 on so i filed the paperwork (in the bin)

I dont do Saltash , I was just copying alex at winding 2 fellow professionals up.

I dont believe for one minute Alex comes to St Ives

Send me your E-mail and i will send you those photos

Oh yes we do Dave!!

We have commercial jobs in St.Ives and all the way up to Saltash/Launceston. These are generally jobs for management companies that we do lots of contracts for. However we never canvass and have no plans to increase what we currently do there.

Its ok

Andy Cheney

What can i say< I know they was good to you in the beginning as you were one of there first customers , they did some active marketing for you.

But the recent prices were pure greed on there behalf.

Did you give them permission to use Smart cleaning Quotes

WOW :o £175 for that

I would of went for £300-£400 for that and done it over 2 days.

There looks like a lot problems getting to certain areas.

Come to think of it, i would have turned that down more trouble than its worth!

Hi Stuart,

I am a laddersfree member and have not heard a thing since I paid them the money apart from getting my welcome pack. Not too impressed so far and doubt I will renew next year unless I get some work from them or through the website.

I am also safecontractor and have not got any work through them but I do think this helps a little when quoting for jobs.

Hope this helps a little mate,

Kind regards,

Nigel

Stuart

Thats what i thought.

I initially agreed to do the job because i felt obliged to do it, because i thought if i didnt do it they wouldnt offer me anything else.

I was just going to put staff on it but even then i would of struggled with it. just before i was due to clean it ,I did my elbow in and had staffing problems, so I had to ditch it at the last minute.

Close escape springs to mind

Come to think about it David, I did but some years ago, (but have not a member for some months) I do know them very well at Laddersfree and have always found them very friendly and professional, I didn't renew my membership last year because of the bad pricing on the resent work and as I have been getting rid of bad payers and under priced work, I didn't renew with them

Andy
PS one time I done a big job for them, which gave me a cash flow problem, I phoned laddersfree and they gave me 50% of the job with-in the 1st week of doing it, not to many commercial contracts would do that, if any.
