Title: Scummy Old Baths
Post by: Paula on July 28, 2004, 06:29:50 pm
Hello,

I have recently set up a cleaning company and have come across quite a few old really stained and old baths! Any idea on what I can use to shift all this old grime. It does not come off with normal bathroom cleaner or Limescale remover.
Also in between the tiles in bathroom the old Limescale and dirt marks that are an orangey colour I cannot seem to get rid.... Please help!
???

Hi

If the tiles are really that bad you can use either sugar soap them and scrub between the tiles or use Spirit of Salts which is basically 32% hydrochloric acid.

Please be careful with the acid, it STINKS! and is acid afterall.

You can fill the bath with water and put the acid in but you have to be careful as it can damage the enamel or paint.

Hope that helps
