Lots of customers are asking for their gutters to be cleaned. The problem I have is im just starting out with WFP and was hopeing to chuck the old ladders away. Why would a window cleaner risk using a ladder for gutters after investing thousands to eliminate the risk factor? :-\
Is there anyway of cleaning the debris away from the ground? I guess a pressure washer would do if theres a suitable attachment but I havent seen anything like that available.
I would be grateful for any help.

I do a lot of gutter cleaning on domestic property using a bolted on stand off attached to the head of the ladder and a ladder stopper at the bottom.
Solid work platform but I would use a MEWP for anything higher than 1st floor.
-
Sorry steve, whats a MEWP?
-
Mobile Elevated Work Platform..cherry picker, scissor lift, hydraulic platform.
-
OK, thanks.
Looks like i should keep my ladder then as I dont want to turn any work down.
-

Hi Chris
Not to worry, I feel like I bug you too much anyway. Got the van now so im hoping to get all the WFP together in the next few weeks. Just after some advice in a few areas but as you know the guys on the forum are a great help aswell.
Gutter jobs do seem to be a pain in the arse, just looking for an easy way I guess!
Will give you a bell Monday or Tuesday after work.
Ta ta!

i clean them out with ladder and then clean with water fed.
-
hopefully out canvassing next week on domestic properties, but also have a few commercial quotes to put together and a lenghty Rsk Ass aswell , supposed to be a week off ... oh well eh
will talk later Phil

I use a jet washer with telescopic lance and a gutter cleaning attachment to clean awkward gutters out. so we dont need the use of ladders.
-
where did you get the telescopic lance please dougster

What are these Gutter cleaning attachments like?
I'm looking at one from Varitech but want to see one working.
All i can picture is all the muck going all down the walls of the house and probably nextdoor. You then will have to clean all the walls etc.

If its done correctly you can do an excellent job and no mess at all, if the nozzle is on the floor of the trough then it wont blast everywhere just flush straight down the downpipe, if you disconect them at the bottom you can collect the debris there for you to remove
Chris
Added later : Photo of it in use full flow and not much spray
-
Chris,
How high can that go up to and can it work from someones tap or do you need a pressure washer.
Doug
-
It could work from a tap but you would need a v.good flow, the lance itself goes to 7.3m
-
Chris
What size pressure washer do you use. ie BAR/PSI?
Been looking about for one

yep that's bang on those screws need constant checking or you loose them .... mine needless to say are not the originals i have replaced them with other screws
Chris

chris from u pic i can see a black clamp on the end of u pole i aint got that
-
Paul thats a screw on reducer bought from a local hydrahlics or plant hire firm
i just took off the conection from the gutter attachment and put this on so I could swapends when needed
If someone reminds me in the morning i'll get it out of the van and take some close-up pics and upload them I would find some online but im sure i'll get the wrong thread or size then someone will go and order it
A good place to find that would be Pirtek or someone like that
