Why not pump from the top with a submersible?

Hi Davew... Ive already got a pump but its not a submersible one.

Well get one. For the sake of £40 or so you'll be waiting a long time to transfer water by gravity otherwise.

yes...very slow. I`ve got one off ebay for £30 and it fills my 400L tank in 2-3 minutes.
Just let it sit in your IBC with the electric lead hanging up outside the tank on a hook. When filling van tank, just put your pump hose in the van tank, plug the pump in and watch as the tank in your van is filled in minutes.

Baz has your tank got the larger cap 'cos it might not drop in without some surgery.

mine had to have a hole cut into the top of the ibc to allow my pump tp go inside, i use standard hose pipe which only pumps 200ltr in 1/2 hr,
so what size of pipe do you use to pump 400ltr in 2-3 mins???????

Why not pump from the top with a submersible?

that is what i have done as well it works well you just have to cut a little in the tank to get the pump in
