Hi markybop.

If you look on http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/shop.html

And go to pole specifications they give some weight & rigidity specs.( only there opinion though )

Looking at them though the extender seems to come out best in the price range of a 18ft pole, dont know what size you are looking for.

Hope this helps Jeff.

extender poles are useless. Very cheap and very light but mine cracked right down the shaft when I used it af full extension...also, you get constant splinters from the fibre glass.

I have a predator from Brodex (18ft) and it is great...solid, rigid and light...but their carbon range is even better.(lighter) ;)

Steve.  I will be after an 18 foot lightweight pole soon and wonder if the predator would meet my needs.  A  few questions about the predator if you don't mind answering.
1)  Is it a telescopic pole?  (I don't want modular).
2)  Are the clamps hardwearing?
3)  Is it rigid enough to push most windows closed even when a full stretch?

I would say yes to the first 2 but I wouldn't it was rigid.

I can`t see how you find it too bendy!
Any fibreglass pole is going to bend at full extension but the predator is one of the least bendiest I have used.

It is not modular, has great clamps and is rigid enough to close windows and work comfortably.

saying all that, I think carbon fibre is the best but too pricey for most.
