Title: Builder's cleans
Post by: Jan K on January 26, 2007, 06:51:17 pm
After having a nice long discussion with Jase today, I have made an executive decision. And that is the only way I am gonna progress in my business life is to tackle the Builder's clean market, and as they are throwing up new houses left right and centre i gotta take the bull by the horns and go for it.

Now I understand that there is involved a Builder's clean re-clean and sparkle clean.

But prior to that i will be required to supply method statements, risk assessments, Health n Safety policy, but what else and why would be nice to know.

I have tapped Jase for some info, but it always good to have more n 1 point of view.

I have never attempted this sorta cleaning on large scale, but what the hell I aint got nothing to lose, and althou I am a little nervous about failing, isnt that all part of the game. I may even under quote and lose financially but again all part of the 'new' game and mistakes made are ones to learn from.

Thanking all you nice peeps in advance

Jan

PS Yes I know i could search, and I have done too, but not got the info i really feel i would like :)

Good luck, there are a lot of sloppy operators out there, so getting i there should not be a problem.

Definitely worth giving builders cleans a go, like you say, there is plenty of work out there!

Like any trade, there is a lot to learn, and you will make mistakes, especially with pricing, but as long as you learn quickly. you'll be okay  ;)

I would advise sending out a introduction letter to some of the big house building companies, and a few of the bigger local firms. Also, you could drop into a site, and ask if they have any one to do their cleaning works. Either way will bring some results.

Some builders only require, H & S documents after you have been awarded the contract, others require it all, before you can get on their Approved Contractors List.

Go for it !

Regards...........Jake

Hi Samuel,

Madmary says she could not find any derivative comments from you - or any appology!

CUI banned her anyway - so maybe they took your posts off for others to see. Who knows?

Good luck to her starting her own forum. Be interesting to see if she bans any Admins of CUI. Lol.

I am going to hook up to her forum anyway to see...
