Well, I spilled some milk, say a four days ago, and hadn't noticed until awhile after. (I am guessing about an hour, since I left the room and returned an hour later). I know I could shampoo the carpet, but I am trying to resort from that (I don't want to lety everyone know it smells, and I don't want to rent one). I tried Febreeze but that didn't help. So, I was wondering if anyone knew how to clean up my carpet and get the smell out? Prefably a cheap way. Thanks.

Hi,
You need to break the protein bond.
Use a biological washing powder preferably for coloureds, soak for about 30 mins and then either suck out or towell off.
Repeat as necessary.
Cheers,
