wHY NOT    Ill tell you why   What do you do with all the spare time your left with ?  Also Im disappointed that i dont feel exhausted at the end of a big days cleaning so my wife now expects me to be awake in the evenings instead of dozing in front of the fireplace..also my colleague Frank is turning into a nag...can i have the T/M today on and on and on ... and also im getting fed up with customers saying how pleased they are with their carpets and then they have the cheek to recommend us to their friends which means i have to ring them up and go and clean their stuff as well so isuppose that at least that uses up some of the spare time.... No definatly stick with the portables certainly if your in my area  thers no future in T/Ms  i miss those days of loading buckets into the old portie getting out of the van...but i also miss my old black and white telly too...cheers Simon

I've had mine for 6 months now and its the nuts.

Mine is 2nd hand and ok we have had to get used to each other (the machine will all ways get its way) but I wouldnt be with out it.

Mines a Hydramaster as well and its much easier than a porty. OK it takes a bit longer to set up but the results are spectacular. I work for a letting agency and get some real crud to do.

I knew I was losing work because the porty wouldn't do the job, so now I have the TM I go along and look and can usually get them up to a decent standard.

Landlord, me and the Agent all happy.

Tell you what put your TM on the 'For sale' forum and see how many enquiries you get. If not offer it back to them they allways have people wanting to buy previously used setups.

Simon ,what I suggest is with your spare time, as you put it is go do some more work, after all you must be snowed under with all th referals etc, so you can fall asleep infront of the tv again ;)

Dp you meant to say your customers were not pleased when you cleaned them before?? :) strange how you have any custys left , if this was the case!!!

And dare I say , I would suggest their are cleaners in your area, who clean just as well as you, if not better :) with a porty . Please somebody take him up on his challange ;D

You may well miss those days of loading up with buckets, you may well miss the expense of repairs and maintanace also of a porty :)

HERE WE GO AGAIN,  hope you have joined the t/m forum ;D  ;D  ;D

Geoff
Ps. Good luck Simon, pleased your enjoying

Murky

I'm perplexed by your comment that a TM takes longer to set up than a portable.

I've had mine for 3 months and think it's faster and easier.

Whilst your vacuuming the machine is ticking over and warming up.
Pre-spray, pull the pipes in, full throttle and away you go.

No standing at the sink waiting for a bucket to fill with lukewarm water, maybe 2 or 3 times.

I wont bother with the emptying etc...

Plus the customers are highly impressed with the machine that is cleaning their carpet.

I know that not everybody wants one, for a variety of reasons. But for turning up and cleaning, fast, efficient and looking the part, IMO nothing beats them.
