Title: Window cleaner or window washers ?

 Whilst cleaning the other day i heard a little boy say to his mom theres somebody in the garden! and she replied its ok its the window washer  :o

I gave this some thought whilst i carried on with my day, and i came up with when i was traditional i was a window cleaner as i actually cleaned them i.e put soap on removed soap off wiped frames and sills and onto the next one.

Now i get to the window and  wash it  :o

So my question is was this woman right and are we just a load of washers ?

I have an American customer she calls me "window washer"

Yeh I think its an Americanism. My friends in the states call me a "window washer", but I haven't heard anyone over here call it that. Sounds kinda more water-y doesnt it?!

Window washer is American, Window Cleaner is English, but.....American companys also call themselves Window Cleaners, for all the obvious reasons, everyone can wash a window, but not many can clean it! hah ;D

I also have a couple of american customers and they also call me the window washer, even when I was Trad.

I have a couple of customers call me a scrounger. ;D
But they still pay me ;D ;D ;D

i use the term window washer on my receipts,
just like the way it looks

The word, 'cleaner' may sound a bit downmarket; so if you're a bit on the pretentious side, 'washer' may sound a bit posher!

I agree with Tosh but generally people in Britain are familiar with the term 'cleaner' so this one seems to go down better I think!

For what it is worth here in The Netherlands were are called Glazenwassers.

My customers can call me what they like as long as i get paid,  ;D.

As long as they dont call me what the mrs calls me im happy,  ::)
