Are they any good?
Will be laying my 18ft extender pole to rest after 6 months. Top section won't stay tight anymore, clamp broke and Ican't stand the splinters any longer! A little bit short too.
Been looking at 22-24ft poles but don't know what to go for, been wfp last 6 months, don't want to keep shelling out for a new pole every 6 months.
Stream sell a 24ft ally pole for £166 + vat, quite fancy ally as it is harder wearing, but will it be too heavy? Also brodex 25ft (glass fibre) at £166 + vat.
Gardiners 24ft universal at £84 + vat, predator 24ft £118 + vat
Cleantech facelift £289 + vat
These are the poles I could find, i'm looking to spend around £200 on pole, little more for the perfect pole.
My works all residential so will be using pole at all sorts of angles over extensions etc so I don't want to go heavier than the extender pole.
So what do you guys think will be best for my work ( I use gazh20 brushes with swivel, lighter than vikan) really drawn to an ally pole!

dont get any fibre glass pole thats over 18ft as they have way to much bend! sent my 24ft prederter back but kept the 18 as its brill

You can get an Unger Teleplus from wintecs for under £100. It goes up to 30ft.
All the parts are cheap to replace. It may not look as flash as some poles but loads of us on here use them. They last for years too. They come in 5 sections, you just use as many as you need. I do 3 story houses with only 4 sections. I have had mine blow over a few times without any damage being done.
I think Ian Giles uses one. and I know that Matt does. Good pole, great price. Dai

You can even get a 6 or 7th or possibly 8th section for the unger teleplus.
Ive got the 6 section ;) Too heavy though. Only used it once :P

Yup! I got the extra sections when I got the set with my trolley from peter Fogwill way back when. Way too heavy. The Unger Teleplus is great for mainly ground and 2nd floor (and a bit of third floor work) - but no higher in my opinion.

spend that wee bit more an go for the 25ft face lift i think its well worth the money

I haven't been able to work out how the clamps work on the Stream pole.
I use and Unger teleplus but find the tightening and loosing on the collars a bit tedious and time consuming - good pole otherwise. Would prefer a quick release type clamp but I think durability would suffer.
The Stream pole clamps look as though they are a jubilee type arrangement that could also be a pain to tighten and release.

It's rather dearer than you want to pay but the Omnipole Powerpole seems a great tool. I use the 24 foot version as my standard pole. It's durable, rigid, and it's possible to put other fittings in the end as the brush head can be released quickly.

how heavy is the 24ft omnipole as I would be using this pole for most of my work. Got to say it looks a very nice pole. If it lasts a few years it would be worth investing a bit more money.

How easy is the unger pole to put up and down? Residential being my bread and butter I am constantly putting pole up and down ;)
