Title: How many members have web sites?

Hi all

I have just bought my new domain name and was wandering how many of you have web sites?

And how do you get your hits and enquiries

Is it more hits more enquiries?
or do you just suck it and see ?

I have had my web site for about 4 years now. I get the odd enquiry from it but its more to let people know what services I provide.( I have my web address on my van )

not yet advertised it, but gonna register with yell.com as it worked well with another site i have, gets a lot of search engines finding your site

I get lot of hits on my website worldwide, but do not get much business from it.

The biggest hit I get is from the word ' Pole', bet there are a few disappointed folk when they see the wrong Pole  ;D ;D ;D

Hi Andy.

I had one, set it up at very little cost, friend of mine did it for me.

I tried it for 12 months but got nothing of it except plenty of spam mail, and lots of phone calls from U FIND US.COM.

So let it go, i think 99.9% of work is picked up by the following means.

1.  word of mouth.

2. being in the right place at the right time.

3. recommendations

its good for image though and as a point of contact for people to read about you and your services...i'm starting to get a lot of customers paying through the website now as well...i think its defo worth having one

To avoid spam you need to have your email address just typed in on your website. If you have a email link that when you click on it it opens your Outlook
Express you will get loads of spam because a lot of companies have search engines that can trace this.

Whereas just having your email address just typed out they will not pick it up unless they click on your website. Only spam I have had to date is the idoits trying to sell viagra, but blocked them all so no probs since.

hi all couldn't help but notice someone mention ufindus.com just a warning if you get a call or email from them tell them to get stuffed. they are the biggest bunch of con artist's going
