If I've done this right you can vote for any two of the five options. A bit of detail would help.

I'll start you off:-

I've lagged my van tank with space "silvered" loft insulation and ply.
In frosty weather I put a 40w frost protection heater by the hose, pump and tank outlets.
My R/O is in an insulated box on the house wall and if it gets really cold (forecast -3 or below) I put a night light in it before I go to bed!)

As I look outside and check the temp its currently -4.8 here in Holland...Glad I took the pump box, reel out of the van.... ;D

My RO setup is in the shed and that is -0.8 ....no worries as it is insulated....

Yesterday I had water freezing within the waterjets on my brush!!!

I unplug the pump and drain it, open up the valves on my hose and blow a bit of air in it so that the water can expand if it freezes, same with DI vessel, put a blanket over it and wait till it warms up.

I live in Cornwall so it is not such a big problem.

The most I do is put the poles inside my vehicle and throw some lagging over the top of my outside static tank so that the delivery hose does not freeze, but this is only needed about 3 times a year.

RO insulated and in the shed, with froststat greenhouse heater.
Pump in van has a thermal sock wrapped round it and coat draped over it.  Tank has a couple of blankets thrown over it.

Hose to garage has frozen twice though!

buy a oil filled rad there only £19.99 mine is in the van now keeps all the back of the van warm so no freezing poles or pipes, down side is you need to run a extension cable to the van,

I have never really understood why people lag there tanks ???

Mine has never froze! It's been in temperatures of -10.

How can the water in the tank freeze? The large volume of water in the tank is enough to stop it freezing.

All you need to watch is your pump, varistream, hose reel, and all pipes.

Don't worry about the tank but do worry about all the parts and components you have in the van/car/trailer

hi i used a heater last year for my ro unit though i've found this year i moved the freezer into the same room and it keeps the room warm enough to prevent  anything freezing i have a pickup with a snugtop and it keeps everything insulated   ;D ;D ;D
