Customer has asked me to look at a pollen stain which has been washed in with water when the vase fell. Will Doug's solution using white spirit work?
I have read some of the previous posts on this topic so will be prepared to try other solutions.
The carpet is or rather was, a white mixed synthetic medium/ long pile of a good quality.
Any advice would be appreciated

I've always had the best results with an alcohol based spotter , like eco spotter from solutions or the one from one step (either zip it or zap it i can never remember which the alcohol one is !)

Prochems Solvex works well.

Hi Guys,
White spirit will work fine on untreated pollen but once the pollen has been mixed with water it is harder to remove.
The alcohol cleaners are isopropanol mixed with sodium tripolyphosphate (MS).
I bought some isopropanol from my local pharmacy, I also carry acetone(nail varnish remover) and POG, as well as white spirit, between this lot I cover a wide range of solvent options.
Cheers

I think you're almost certainly onto a loser!! Once it is wet the mark is nearly always permanent.

Hi Guys.
Had a problem job last week. The customer was a budding artist and dripped acrylic paint on a
wool carpet. It had set in about 15mm blobs, worked away on it was making reasonable progress with white spirit after POG failed miserably, but you know what its like, the last bit would not shift.
Was losing the will to live and gave up. "That OK madam no charge." Would like to go back and get the feckers out. What do you think? go back with the white spirit and try again now its totally dry or what?
Cheers
Rab.

Did the job today and pleased with the result. I blotted with Ronsons Lighter fuel, and then applied citrus jel for about 2mins and then rinsed.
Probably the synthetic mix pile had a lot to do with it.
On the way back I called into my frienndly local florist who has given me some lily stamens so I can play about with a wool pile carpet.
Thanks for the advice
