Of course its not cheeky. Either do it as a favour for an existing client or it should be a minimum charge anyway. My minimum is much more than you have charged so I would say the client of yours got a deal, best, Dave. P.S. If it took an hour to do would you have charged anymore? If the answer is no then again you have given a good price for a good job.

There's usually a 50 or 100 quid excess anyway.

i would have charged £45 (my min) but i would have said to customer you may as well pay bit more and have the whole lounge done.

if they argue about the min charge for just a stain, tell them you cant make a living out of just stain removal.

we got bills to pay like everybody else.

course supply and demand will play a part, the busier you are the more you'll have to charge, as you dont really want that crap sort of job when you got real good paying ones to carry on with.

Would have to agree with you craig, What is the point in just removing one stain i charge my min call out and tell them they would be better of getting the whole room done, i mean you got to set up your equipment anyway so why not.

Always tell 'em that if you remove just the stain, they'll end up with a clean patch on a dirty carpet and might show up under certain lighting conditions. Far better to have the whole carpet cleaned etc..etc.

Do the same with people just wanting the hall carpet cleaned. Point out that the stairs will still be dirty anc might stand out against a clean hall carpet.
